'Doing a Oner'
Walking 253 miles across wild land, continiously for 11 days is a challenge. The idea of a 'Oner' came about from feedback from walkers who felt the shorter days of the 15 day route were too 'tame'. A 'Oner' really needs the extra daylight of May - August and of course fitness, good mountain skills and our famous weather to be kind to you.

This way of walking the trail is different to other descriptions because this trail description follows a 'Core Route' which starts and finishes each day in a West Highland settlement which allows for logistic support enabling you to carry lighter loads. The idea being that lighter loads equals more fun, allows you to cover more distance and most importantly allows you to experience the local communities along the way and contribute to the local economy
