Scotland' wildest long distance walking trail

Obscura Mondo Cycle Club is a group based in Fort William the 'Outdoor Capital of the UK' The group is not just about cycling and walking, we promote responsible access to the excellent mountain & coastal landscape of the North West Highlands of Scotland. The Cape Wrath Trail Project aims to promote an excellent Cape Wrath Trail walking journey 'Scotland's wildest long distance trail'



Using local knowledge and the mountain skills of many people who live, work and play here a trail has been identified after several years of extensive research that is designed to give potential walkers the best possible experience of the beautiful North West Highlands of Scotland.

There are a confusing number of different versions of the Cape Wrath Trail. Our versions of the Trail avoids road walking; travels on existing footpaths to protect our environments; is in manageable daily sections of moderate distance for experienced walkers, starts and finishes each day in a West Highland Community in order to avoid the need for heavy packs - to aid logistics and give walkers a taste of West Highland life; has a number of recommended Rib Routes for those seeking a greater challenges and shows Link access points. Most importantly the Trail passes through some of Scotland's most beautiful wild land.
